Full Circle is an open mic community, that has morphed out of a long running Monday night tradition. Those who’ve stuck it out since the beginning, and made it past several crossroads, have likely learned some hard lessons, and seen how difficult it is for such an entity to survive. These kind of experiences, are ones that make clear the importance of having such a community, and give an idea of the work takes to make it continue and to thrive.
The committee behind the event organization includes emotion inducing spoken word performer April Elle, veteran west coast freak rocker turned modern folk-maestro Old Nick, the new generation show person Uasha aka Pocket Full of Gems, and parent, dead head, artists and quasi elder statesmen Murphy.
A host of regulars, and rotating stream of folks from the greater open mic scene, curiosity seekers, and a new generation of regulars can be found expressing themselves in some creative manner, 7 minutes at a time.
The new host location, Marino Cafe, has been enthusiastic and joining in on the action.
The events also occasionally include featured artist performances, for those with impending events, releases or important announcements.
Full Circle is open to all on Mondays, with 6pm-7pm for gathering, sign ups, and socializing, with the show going down 7-9pm.

It was against this backdrop that G’Odd emerged, making himself known with a series of movies about his group the Fire Brigade. He then took off to Dallas, Texas in search of a larger rap scene. He opened the CF Hawn studio in the south Dallas area known as Greedy Grove and recorded many local rappers while honing his own skills and eventually started to perform live. Just over year ago he returned to Portland and began playing in a thriving open mic scene. Now, G’Odd can be seen around Portland playing events, collaborating with the “Secret Society” and on his weekly tv series “Portland Cable Access Hijack”. For the 5 year anniversary of this project there will be multiple performances, releases and odd activities. On May 18th he’ll be giving the featured artist performance on friends Full Circle weekly event at Marino Cafe. The 15 min G’Odd slot will be at 8pm, with open mic performers before and after.
